Acknowlegment from indian charity says "money that will be cut for service to credit a foreign cheque is hardly worth sending a cheque for a small amount".

I sent them £25 at xmas, anyone know what indian average bank charges might be?

Yes, I send cheques every year for last 10+y; same for 4 uk charities that are gratefully received.
Tamborine Sorry I cannot help you re. the Indian bank charges.

I have found that some charities that one gives to keep coming back requesting that you could possibly increase the amount of your donation to them.

Whilst I realise their need to raise money their methods sometimes annoy me and sadly I stop giving .
I agree with SirOracle. I give a little to the Red Cross and they keep phoning and texting, asking for more. It's very annoying.
That would only happen to me once Sandy, there would NOT BE any futher donations.
hi, give your money instead to a uk charity that help indian causes?
