Have had glaucoma for many years, have had all the types of drops that are available for this condition so the next treatment looks like being a Trabeculectomy wich if I understand it correctly is a "Stent" which helps with the releasing of pressure within the eye.
The question I would like to ask, is there any one with any information of this medical procedure, and anything else?

THanks in advance Danny.

My father had a trabeculectomy last year, to treat the rising pressure. It does seem to have worked, and the pressure in his eye now seems to be consistent and within the normal reference range. Well...............you can have a shunt inserted as an initial procedure, but usually a trabeculectomy is performed as an initial drainage operation without a shunt.

Unless i am way out of date.
It isnt a medical procedure - you have had them and failed

it is a surgical procedure and has good results in this disease.

quite a lot here:

The surgery was carried out as a day case, with no side effects. The only downside, such as it was , was the need for a strict adherence to antibiotic drops for - I think - around 3 weeks.
