Wow! I feel terrible! This virus strikes fast, this morning I had a few sniffles, and now its full on illness.
Has anyone else had this? Any tips for making u feel better?
I don't take medication as I'm breast feeding, only paracetamol.
But I have a streaming nose, blocked sinuses, headache that kills, temperature, and my body hurts so bad, even just laying on the bedtime side touching the bed is throbbing!
Have a 10 mo baby and 2 older girls, plus a hubby who doesn't do much so I'm gonna struggle x bless everyone else with this xxx

Yes I and my 3 year old son had it over Christmas. At least the Paracetamol will keep your temperature down, but know the feeling of having to do everything for the children when you feel terrible. My other half is a lazy git. Hope you feel better soon.

Thanks velvetee, had to bang on the floorboards to get his attention a min ago so I could go get a drink, as baby is in bed with us, only way I get any sleep!
Said he wasn't tired, that's because he didn't get up till 10am!
Just took some paracetamol so hope I can sleep now.
step-son has had some throat virus sinse crimble, not stopped talking though!hope you feel better soon
Try taking honey with cinnamon. 1 tbsp honey to /1/2 tsp cinnamon. This is anti fungal/anti viral mix and if taken over three or four days will really help.
The only two things that will help are to rest and keep your fluid levels up. Cinnamon and honey is a soothing mix and may help as a decongestant but there is little evidence to show any antiviral properties. resting over 3 or 4 days will do as much good!
'' a hubby who doesnt do much'' shame on him, :(
I've had this awful bug for over a week now. Managed a decent nights sleep last night, have only been getting 3-4 hours. Felt great this morning, until I hit the fresh air, then wound up in a nice coughing fit again. I'd say the best cure would be to teach your husband to cook, clean and wait on you hand and foot.

No chance of that I'm afraid! I actually had a bath this morning, left him with baby and got out at midday to find them on sofa watching tv, he hadn't let dog out, fed dog or gave baby breakfast as he said he thought as I'd breast fed him he didn't need breakfast... He is 10 months!! Not impressed!
Just taking paracetamol, but am feeling horrendous!
sheri, hope you feel better soon. Lots of liquids I think. And a new husband?
Your husband needs a stern talking to.
yup I'd be dumping that lazy ass slob

Not possible unfortunately, 3 kids, debts, bills, house, no job, and 3 kids I couldn't bare to share.
Feeling even worse tonight! Hope I will get over this sooner rather than later! All I've managed today is a cup of sweet hot soya milk and a cpl biscuits, so need to get eating soon to make milk for baby xx
How is everyone else? Xx
you poor thing, i do hope you feel better soon.
My mum and my sister both had it for over a week before they felt better, and my 8 month old had it for about 10 days before she wasn't so miserable all the time (although she still is a bit coughy at times)
if your husband doesn't know that a 10 mo baby needs breakfast, then might i suggest that's a little bityour fault for not letting him/making him do it before or telling him this morning "can you take the baby, please don't forget breakfast"? Although i look after my daughter during the day (because he's at work), at the weekends we share the care - firstly i had to write him a list, but nowadays he can do it all by himself :)
On another note, how long were you panning to bf for? perhaps this might be a good time to reduce it, and get hubby a bit more involved in the feeding? I realise this advice is totally unsolicited and probably unwelcome, but just sharing i have found you need to be totally specific with men if you want them to do stuff!
I had the flu jab in Novemebr and suffered a "mini" dose of flu for two days - even taking to my bed for a day! Have had a vicious cold for a week now, like a couple of my friends - not flu but very nasty. It has reached the chest congestion stage and all I want now is a decent night's sleep - (so does my wife). It will be hot toddy time tonight. Suggest you do the same with lots of honey, double measure of scotch and hot water, hot water bottle and get your husband to pull his weight.
That's funny craig, I had the flu jab last year and never had even a moment's reaction, this year I had 3 days of feeling a bit "off" and a friend of a friend was so poorly with it that he ended up in hospital. I too have had a really horrible cold straight after noro, but since I haven't had so much as a finger ache in 4 years I guess its worth it.

Still feeling unwell, and not sleeping, this is a really terrible virus, I've not been this ill for years! Hopefully it can't last too much longer.
With regards to hubby and baby, I plan to bf till he is at least 18m as its best for him and free of course :) he did know to give him breakfast coz I actually said when we were all in bed that he needed bum change and breakfast.
I do almost everything for the kids and baby as he has no patience since he has had depression and I don't trust him with the baby, he can lose his temper so fast. But hopefully all will change as he has now been given the ultimatum, change or leave, so we shall see.
You have my sympathy.
