Ok, bilaterial internal cerebral vein thrombosis, left sided thalalmic venous hemorrhage.

I hope I got all those words in the right order.

What does that mean please Squad?

This is my niece, she appears fine.

trigg...I have been giving more thought to this and have done a bit of research as it is extremely uncommon and my knowledge is limited.

Occurs in roughly 0.08 births in 100.000......that uncommon. An ill understood disorder with an unknown cause and debatable treatment, mainly surrounding the use of anticoagulants.Internal cerebral vein thrombosis is bad enough, but when combined with blood vessels in the thalamus which are blocked, then it is a truly serious condition with a bleak outlook in the short term and an even more difficult and uncertain outlook in the long term.

If the baby survives breathing problems, which may ensue, then mental and neurological problems will certainly follow.

That's it trigg............a policy of wait and see with the prospect of a bleak future.

The neurologist has painted a more hopeful picture.

Fingers crossed it is, she will be loved whatever.

no disrespect sqad, but am sure you will agree the consultant will be in a better position re diagnosis for this wee baby.

trigger....not at all..and i hope my prognostications are wrong.
Just to add that I too hope Sqad is wrong. Anne - Sqad was asked for his advice and gave it.
