I've had similar thing AceofClubs .Cellulitis .This did ulcerate and consequently caused me lots of problems .I also have venous eczema .Years of standing in the retail trade haven't helped my veins either .I have to wear those compression socks too.
Not a very helpful dermatologist you have either .Mine were very good .I would ditch the E45 .I was given Dermol which is antibacterial and Oilatum You must apply these frequently to keep the skin soft and prevent and splitting of the skin which if it splits ( which it did in my case) can cause ulcers. Hope you feel better soon .Chin up . |

I had an ulcerated leg way back ( 2009 I think) & when it had been cleared up was advised to use E45 moisturising lotion DAILY. I have been using it on both legs & feet ( don't forget in between the toes) after my shower ever since & I reckon I've got the best legs in the country.

From what i can gather from your post, you don't have an ulcerated leg so any antibiotic creams at this stage would be of little, if any value.
Do what the consultant says and continue with the compression stocking and E45. How would the Consultant know at this stage if ulcers will form? They certainly might if you discard his advice. |

Dermol isn't an antibiotic cream .
It's antibacterial .Which are two completely different things . |

shaney....well.....I thought that antibacterial and antibiotic were the same.........both suppress and kill bacteria.
If there are no offending bacteria present, then either are unsuitable. |

I disagree sqad .I found E45 useless and when I had the ulcers the dermatologist gave me Dermol .Best thing for my legs anyway .Sorted them out and I use it on a regular basis . All over ..lol....
What suits one etc :) http:// |

Sheney.......Aceof Clubs doesn't have ulcers and hence doesn't need antibiotic cream.
You had ulcers which implies infection and needed antibiotic or antibacterial creams. Two completely different situations. |
