Ok, I admit I'm at a loose end so thought I'd post this.
Despite working in an Operating Theatre I don't really know many people/colleagues who've had them removed/treated.
I'm asking because I had mine sealed off via laser last Friday and just wanted to know if any of you have undergone treatment on yours and how you fared afterwards?
Thanks in advance for any replies/responses made.
I have beautiful legs, muscular and NO varicose veins......BUT....I am told on good authority that endovenous laser ablation is successful with minimal complications.
Thanks Sqad, yes, the figures are good, just wondered if anyone could tell me how much of a difference they noticed after having them done.
Fair play to the JAFA's in the NHS, they got me to theatre some 3 weeks after diagnosis, so can't complain!
Had the old fashioned stripping and avulsions done about 15 years ago, now have horrible discolouration and 'wasting' around the lower part of my calf after bouts of varicose excema and cellulitis, Within a few months of the op the remaining veins were worse than before despite following all the post op instructions and there is not enough scope for a redo. I gater the laser treatments are miles better. however all the standing around in theatres is very bad for your leg veins...
Thanks for the input guys.
You're right rowanwitch, all that standing around doesn't help, occupational hazard unfortunately!
I can recommend the EVLT (laser) treatment thus far (painful in longer legs though, more/extra injections of local anaesthetic!) but it's early days yet of course, need to be a few months post-op before I notice the results really.
