So lonely,what can I do ?

I have no family , I am on my own. I have recently retired and and the days are so long. I spend so much time on my own I think I am going crazy some days. I have joined things, but every one seems to have their own lives. I dont come over as miserable as I keep cheerful in the company of others, but I get so down these days as my work was my life.

Could you do some voluntary work?
Rescue a cat or dog, believe me, it would help.

Could you listent to the kids read at your local primary?
Pets not allowed? - Says who?
What about helping at an adult literacy class?
Question Author
Done the pub bit and the dancing and that sort of stuff, rarely drink now as on meds
What about volunteering with your local council as it brings you into contact with people who really need someone to help them. Temping is another way to get into part time paid work if that is what you want and will bring you into contact with other people. I used to help out with the brownies and there may be similar organisations in your area that need people to help.

I live in a flat
Online Scrabble, tamaris?
That wiles away the hours and can be good fun too, especially when 'chit chat' is passed between you and the other player during the game
I think it might be time for a chat with your doctor. retiring can be hugely stressful and it sounds to me like there is stuff underlying your sadness.
Question Author
haha, I need to get out of the flat TBH
how about volunteering at your local hospital? they are always looking for help.
