diverticulitis

I have had diarrhoea for 3 days . No other symptoms other than griping pains. I don't appear to have a temperature or feel sick but I need to go about every 30 mins.

I have been diagnosed with diverticulitis - is this likely to be related?

If you are worried go back to your GP and tell about your concerns.

I am going to go tomorrow thank you
Looking on wiki, diverticulitis is linked with diarrhoea and is caused by, amongst other things, a low fibre diet. Higher fibre diet is suggested but a visit to you GP would be a good idea.
It might be......unusual, but it might be.

I would have thought that an infection is a more likely cause, but give it the "full week" and if it doesn't get better, then see you GP.
Before you launch into any specific diet, you need help to work out what is triggering your episodes. It is likely to be stress alongside something else which might range from animal fats to husks on seeds and pulses - I'm speaking from experience of a family member.
The nature of the diverticula - the little baggy pouches that develop in the bowel - means that waste can literally become trapped and infections can result, so do as others have said and get yourself examined.
Good luck and get well soon.
could be something, anything or nothing ... good luck with the GP and don't be fobbed off!

Dr has prescribed Loperamide; 48 hour fast; plenty of fluid and sent a sample for testing. Must say that I am feeling slightly better today but I am pleased that I was able to get into see the Dr. Thank you all for your input - Hopefully back to work tomorrow

Had my test results back and it is campylla bacta. I thought that this included onickness and high temperature but I had neither and I'm back on top form. I think I was particularly lucky, but I can't pinpoint what caused it
Thanks for the feedback.....much appreciated.
