Hi my partner has started having "Cetuximab" treatment for lung cancer, he has has 2 sessions so far, 1 of the side affects of the treatment is an acne like skin rash, he has been given creams and bath wash for this to help ease the soreness and itchiness,he has not been given anything for his scalp which also is very bad with blister aswell that are weepy and itch, my question is do any body on this site know of any shampoo that is mild enough, he has used and is using baby shampoo, with not much relief. thankyou WHF

get him to speak to his specialist nurse.... they may have better advice... I suspect a very dilute coal tar shampoo like t gel or polytar might help rinsed really well but its one of those times where there is no substitute for expert advice

Thankyou, he is going on Monday for his 3 treatment, we will ask the oncologist for advice, we did ask the chemo nurse specialist but she just seemed to be concerned about his face and trunk, it seems that because his scalp cannot been seen then there is no problem, but we will ask on Monday. Thankyou WHF
Either that or there may be a pharmacist at the hospital who specialises in chemo they might know
