Hi - I read somewhere that if you line your top lashes from underneath, ie in between the lashes, you can add definition to your eye without putting an eyeliner line along the top of the lashes.
Can anyone recommend the right tool for the job ie kohl or a soft pencil? I'm middle aged so the dark smoky look would be a bit much, but I would like to give my eyes a little more ooomph. If you can recommend brands as well that would be double handy. Thank you all.
I have a Barry M (Superdrug) soft pencil which i do under the lashes with but I think any type of pencil would be alright to use just the liquid eyeliners would never work and hurt a lot i imagine. I like the look of it and i think sometimes you don't even have to have mascara on for it to look more defined
Hi bizzy,
I have always applied my eyeliner in this way. I use a 'Rimmel' soft kohl pencil in black. If you pull your eyelid back slightly you can apply it to the rim of the top lid. The bottom is much easier. The more you practice the easier it gets. Here's a video link although it only shows the make up artist applying it to the lower eye. Just do the same to the upper lid.
I have always had trouble with eyeliner staying on. I used to use Estee Lauder automatic eye pencil duo which was amazing. I then went on a website that was recommended on here who sell kajal kohl eyeliner and that stuff doesn't move and makes your eyes stand out (not literally!) I wouldn't use anything else now.
bizzy if you opt for kajal (which is great, i use it myself and love it).... then have a google at islamic stores....its really cheap on them ...anywhere from £1.25 to £3/4 and its good like vodka says....
Rimmel is my highly recommended kohl eyeliner. Just lift each out corner of your eye lid and run it through the top. Make sure its soft and there is no debris on the pencil look at panacea81 links on you tube for tips. good luck.x
To do the underneath of top lashes I put LOADS on the bottom lid then blink hard, it sort of transfers onto top lid. Also; to make it stay I use a flat, thin brush, wet it very slightly then dip in black eyeshadow then dab very gently and carefully along the lid.
wow I've worn lots of eye make-up for years but have never thought of using kohl inside my upper lashes. Anyway I agree the Rimmel one is excellent and I have always used it until I recently discovered the Maybelline waterproof one. Love it, really intense black and stays put for hours.
