funeral eulogy by lady mountbatten

A customer has asked for the name of the poem part of which Lady Mountbatten read as an eulogy at the memorial service of her son. Its a tough one, the customer has borrowed a few books on readings etc but none of them seem to be familiar or the right one she wants. Any clues? librarylady (Tue 14:46 21/Mar/06)

Hello there,

Well I have well and truly "Googled" for Lady Mountbattens(she is also Countess Brabourne,by her husband) eulogy at the Memorial Service of her son,but with no luck. His name was Nicholas Knatchbull by the way,and along with several other members of the Mountbatten/Knatchbull family was killed in a boat explosion by the IRA,in 1979.His identical twin brother(Timothy) survived.

What I have found(we don't live that far from them) is the phone number/address of Norton Knatchbull(now Lord Brabourne,as his father died last year)who is Nicholas' Eldest Brother.

As follows:~ Address

Rt Hon Lord Brabourne
NewhouseThe StreetMersham
ASHFORD
TN25 6NQ
KENT
Phone Number
01233503636

Sorry if this is confusing, but Countess Mountbatten of Burma is this in her own right (through her Father) was Countess Brabourne(through her husband) and is now Dowager Countss Brabourne. The Brabourne family name is Knatchbull.

Don't be scared of ringing them, they are a nice family!

I don't want to appear a spoilsport, but I hope you asked them their permission before posting there name, address and telephone number on a public website?

If not, I'd suggest you have it removed quickly.

Hi there stevie,

These details appear on both a Public Domain Website, and in the BT Telephone Directory(both printed and on the Net);so I think publishing them here will not be any problem.

As I said they are a nice family, and would really go out of their way to help anyone!

Thanks for you concern anyway.
