I saw John cooper Clarke the other night!

Not a question, but just had to share!
He was just as brilliant as he was in the eighties.
And he signed the leaflet I've had for 24 years and seemed genuinely pleased that I'd kept it.
How nice is that?

I believe I saw him at Coventry, in the interval of a punk concert by ...Trio Los Paranoious in the late 70s(?). Many went, grumbling, to the bar when a poet was announced but those of us who stayed were mightily entertained against all expectations. Isn't he the author of the clasic short: I met a woman who changed my life / I asked her if she'd be my wife / She said: I already am, I do wish you'd stop drinking
