Hiya, I hope someone can help. I saw two canvas paintings a few weeks ago that I really liked and decided to go back to the shop on payday to buy them both, unfortunately I returned to the shop and it has closed with no forwarding address and I don't know what the pictures were called or who they were by, etc! I will try to describe them as best I can.....

They were two canvas paintings that went together as a pair, on one side a man was sat at a bar drinking and on the other canvas a woman was sat smoking a cigarette through on of those filters I think. If you put the pictures side by side one way then it looked like the two could be engaged in conversation, if you put them side by side the other way (with the male on the right) then it looked like they were ignoring eachother! I think the bar looked 1930's New York style. I would be so grateful if somebody could help me out. Many thanks

Were the men wearing Fedora hats? This could be a Jack Vettriano painting.....

It's Jack Vetriano style definitely, and yes I think the man was wearing a hat! Excellent, thanks I have something to go on now. Although if you know the name of the pic then feel free to tell me! :-)
I wasn't a section of Nighthawks by Edward Hopper was it?

Hey hellyon, it is not that exact picture but it must surely be by the same artist, it is so similar. Imagine if the picture was painted from behing the couple sat at the bar (i.e. the backs of their heads as opposed to the fronts), also they're further apart and there are bottles on the bar but it is very very similar
The paintings are by Brent Lynch and called 'Cigar Bar' and ' Evening Lounge'.
