Primus
Question Author
No worries just found the answers at back of the book they weren't looking for a name of person so answer is primus. My bad!
Foiled again Milady - I'll say well done x
Thanks, Mamya.

The reason I know the answer si that I walked past the Primus's house once....in Edinburgh I think , many many years ago. It had his title on the gatepost and I was so tickled by someone being called the Primus, that I have always remembered it.

I expect it is from Primis inter pares in some way.
Never to be forgotten then.
Definitely not now! Even if I cannot type it....Primus inter pares.....not primis. Doh!

Funny how things stick, isn't it?
I think Primus just means first m'lady, as does Primo in Italy & Spain.
Thanks Mac.
I expect you are right.....they don't go much for equals in the Episcopal Church, do they, with all those bishops and archbishops and such......
