I have just watched an episode of Wanted in Paradise and the couple were in Phuket. Apparently that is pronounced Foooo KAY.

Anyway, the woman has a good job in a bank and wants to teach English as a foreign language when she emigrates. She met a teacher and spent some time in class with 5 year old pupils of different nationalities.

The teacher asked her to write a verb on the blackboard. She didn't have a clue so the teacher asked the pupils who could give examples of verbs and explain what a verb is.

I was shocked that the woman didn't seem to know what a verb is and very surprised that the 5 year olds did. Would a class of 5 year olds in Britain be dealing with verbs?
