I've googled for paint that you can paint on the freezer, but I can't find any. Does it not exist anymore? I want to paint the freezer because it has lots of marks on it, and painting it is the only way. Thanks

lv'e got a tin of it in my hand now. Google plasti-kote appliance paint.its an aerosol
Several DIY stores here in the U.S. carry Rustoleum Appliance spray paint. It can be obtained in several different colors. Look for the Epoxy Specialty Paint… Additionally, if you want the finished product to really look different, see if this is available… http://www.liquidstainlesssteel.com

Keep in mind, which ever you choose to use, be sure to do a good job of preparing the unit… fine grit sandpaper (water sand paper, the type auto finishers use, is the best) to smooth scratches and dents as well as removing any rust.

You'll need to move the unit to a nearby garage or other reasonably dust-free area, other wise wit will turn into a disaster. Use a paint throw under it and do a good job of masking off the door seal and handle (removing the handle would be best, if you're able) as well as any areas you don't want painted. Two or 3 light spray coats is far better than one overly thick one to avoid runs. Take your time and do a good job, Ok? Good luck!
i used plasti-kote when our washer got damaged excellent too, get that from wilkos
it's the same paint they use on cars, just go to halfords and pick up a can of matching colour spray paint
Buy a new freezer!

Thanks for all your answers, they're brilliant.
Tilly, the freezer works fine, I'm not getting rid of it :-)
Most car spares/accessory shops sell large aerosol cans of generic white car paint at very reasonable prices. No need to fork out for an expensive matched colour.
If you can lay the freezer down so that each surface is facing upward and horizontal when you spray it you will avoid paint runs.

Would car paint be ok for a freezer though? Because the freezer would be in a steamy kitchen environment and it's icy cold on the inside, unlike a car. What do you think?

Thanks Jomifl, I'm only going to paint the door
You could always cover the marks with fridge magnets - the choice is enormous
Question Author
They're all over from top to bottom, so paint it is :-)
Wilkinson's sell a good range of paints for metal surfaces.

Thanks Chris. I was there earlier today. I'll pop back there soon.
my neighbour used a sticky backed plastic for fridge/freezer and it looked like new.
Car paint will be fine. After all, it stands up to the hot steamy tropics, and temperatures in the Arctic Circle!

Thank you heathfield.

Anne, was it intended for use on freezers? Where did she get it?
I'd have though most gloss paints would do. Or since it is appearance only you are trying to improve, how about a Blue Peter roll of "Sticky Backed Plastic" ?
Ah trust me to be late, I see it has already been suggested. Ho hum...
Question Author
Thanks anyway, OG. I might try the sticky-back idea. Just wondering where to get it from.
