What are these books titles

Many years ago,when my two were little (sounds like the opening line!! )1983 ish.we used to read them a series of books about a ship crewed by mice,all I can remember is a character called Great Big Harry or G.B.H. for short.
They were published by Andre Deutch, no idea on the author, but now we have a grandchild I'd love to find them and give them a second airing. It was around the same time the Church Mice books were available but it's not those.
Any ideas gratefully recieved. Thanks.

Were they the Redwall series by Brian Jacques (I think)
