Ernest Hemmingway starter book

I'm trying to 'educate' myself and have started reading some classics. What EH book would you recommend for someone who hasn't read one of his works before?

It'sone thing to read an author's work in order to investigate what the writer is really all about, so to speak. It's entirely another thing to read an author simply to make a "mark on the bark", enabling one to say "I've read so-and-so". That's usually what happens when one attempt to do Hemingway. He was a man of his time and, most often, one either appreciates Hemingway (no one can truly love him, in my opinion) or hates him... no in between.
In that vein, I would strongly suggest an introuduction to his works by way of one of his best short stories...The Snows of Kilimanjaro. It's an excellent example of his craft as well as encapsulating most of what he includes, in one way or another, in the rest of his works (with the exception of his plays)...
Best of enjoyment!

Clanad, many thanks. I'm not wanting to read Hemmingway simply as a 'one-night-stand'. If I like his works I will read everything he has done.

I would recommend Farewell to Arms - very moving and deals with many of his favourite themes.
