Life Skills for Teenagers

I heard of a book a while ago which was about teaching teenagers life skills, eg, cooking, cleaning, sewing etc., written by a mother whose son was about to go to university, and she realised how little he knew. Does anyone know the title or author? Many thanks in advance.

Hi - The National Youth Agency provides a website for young people which includes various lifeskills advice. Useful guidance fr example on moving home, going to uni, coming out, opening a bank account etc.
