Hubby is blind and reads a lot of spoken word he is trying to remember an author he thought it was Elizabeth Arden but I explained she sells beauty products !
this book was about a haunted house near Colchester and they find a Roman torq [ sort of necklace] on the beach and this leads to them seeing Roman ghostie soldiers.
Any ideas anyone please ?

I don't think House of Echoes was about Romans - I seem to recall that was about a knight. It's more likely to be Midnight is a Lonely Place - but House of Echoes was creepier! I read that in 100 plus degrees on a beach in Kenya, and it gave me goose bumps!
