Someone at work mentioned a book written about eight years agao called Perfume by Hollins or Hollis?? Can anyone give me further details please? Its an erotic novel similar to Shades of Grey.

No it's not like 50 shades of sodding grey! It's actually very well written (the film is pants), and there's only one rude scene of any note in it. If you are getting it because you want something similar then you will be disappointed.

I think Perfume's a very haunting and surreal read. I loved it and re-read it recently after a period of about 20 years. I thought the film was OK considering what an unusual plot it had but you can't beat reading a book first.

The Süskind is definitely not the book you're looking for! It was probably a cheap-thrills paperback, now probably out of print.
