Hi everybody I have an oil painting signed by William Hoffman. It shows a clown who is balancing on a rope holding an umbrella and a second clown face in the background. I would very appreciate if someone can give me more information about this artist and the value of his paintings! Thanks, Peter tobler2002@hotmail.com

Although William Hofman died a few years ago now, he lived at one time (1966) in Woodland hills, California, and painted in his spare time. His wife was also a solo artist as well. William'd sell his paintings to folk who admired them, but one of the clown paintings (not the one you describe), sold for a mere $25. Apparently he was a pleasant person, and up until 2005, had at least one surviving brother.
