is it possible to get an address from a uk telephone number?

Business address, yes. Private address, I don't know about the full address but you can certainly get the local area. Try typing the number into google and see what it brings up. Daffi x

It used to be, but I'm not sure you could now, because of the data protection act. But if you ring the operator or Directory Enquires, they would be able to tell you.

Regreatbly(asJimJools says) reverse look up is now illegal in the UK.
All you will be able to find out(as daffidazey syas)is the approximate geographical area of the number.
Eben when I was at BT(as an operator on 100,as far back as 1996) we could not reveal addresses from telephone numbers.This was for two reasons,one,the number may have been Ex Directory,and two because battered wives didn't want their husbands to know where they were.This ruling(from about 1985) resulted from a husband being given an address for his estranged(and battered) wife from a phone number.He promptly went to the address and murdered her!
So you can see why nobody will give you an address from a phone number.
