When going through different topics, reading different answers & think, why am I wasting my time on here?

I use this site when I have free time or when I am taking a break from doing something else. At the moment, I am cooking dinner. I have to keep getting up and going in the kitchen. My free time tends to be early morning and early evening.
I don't feel that I am wasting my time. It's good to interact.

I agree, tilly. It would feel like a waste of time being on all day every day, but having a break or multi-tasking... It's nice to do.

Unless you are doing something specific such as booking holidays, banking, reading emails etc, most of the internet is a time waster anyway.

I pop on and off during the day and evening -unlike 237SJ I find the Internet very useful and interesting. I make a small living from selling stuff on line, do all my research into things I'm selling, keep in touch with friends and family , I could not do without it really. AB however is becoming dreary,I think it was over moderated a while ago and people have just moved on. It seems to be the same old stuff regurgitated and when something interesting comes along you are never quite sure if the thread will still be there when you return.

I agree with you Retrochic - if you use the internet for research, work etc then it is useful but I have lost count of the number of times my friends have said that they thought they would just have a look at the Daily Mail, Facebook etc and before they knew it, 2 hours have gone by. That is a timewasting.

I think the question was specifically about Answer Bank rather than the internet in general. I may be wrong though.

If the question was about Answerbank then yes, it is a complete waste of time.
I have only had a couple of answers to questions on here that I couldn`t have found via the internet. That`s not to say I have no time for AB. It has it`s place but if it folded tomorrow, it wouldn`t be the end of the world.

Yes, a lot of the News questions get taken over by the same people, always posting as if what they say is right and everyone else is wrong, copy and pasting each other's answers and end up ruining threads.

Evening, Sweetie.....I noodle around in breaks from the garden......it's nearly done!

Answerbank has given me.....car headlights which work properly....more than Honda could do.
Endless help when asking about greenhouses....emptying a pond....and top soil.....

The Builder has given me so much advice I could become his right hand man.

I've made some wonderful friends.....been birding with some...lovely days out.....so nice to meet someone who gets as excited as I do over an osprey....
Four people I met through AB have become very close friends and I hope they consider me the same....including the wife of one aber who is just lovely....
My carer takes me to visit a mad woman in Whitby....don't know what I've done to deserve that......
An ex aber found me recently..thanks DTC......we're getting on well and no doubt will meet up......as I will with Ann!!! You listening?.....☺

The banter has dropped a little of late.....but hey...it'll be back...

So no.....not a waste of time ......it makes me stop for a while and enjoy... or raise an eyebrow......or smile.......☺
