I just want to test something.

$x=\frac{-b \pm \sqrt{b^2 - 4 a c}}{2a}$

If this works then a nice neat equation should appear. But if not, I was wondering how easy it is, or not, to implement some form of LaTeX reader into posts? This would be particularly relevant in the Science board and possibly one or two other places as it's difficult to write down Maths equations which are often important to answer certain problems.

I have seen on other sites that an automatic TeX reader sometimes works. If it's difficult to implement or would cause other trouble then it's not too important really but I thought I'd ask just in case.

If what I'd hoped for worked then it might have turned into the quadratic formula, "x equals minus b plus or minus the square root of b squared minus 4 a c all over 2a", in a neat equation form. That it doesn't could be that I need to surround it by more than just dollars, or more likely that the Answerbank reply box doesn't recognise TeX.
