olympics

apologies if this has already been suggested.
how about, for the next three weeks, having the olympics as a topic all by itself under the topics list.

so that all questions, observations and suggestions can be posted under the one topic.

It was suggested, but the concensus was that Other Sports will cover it.

fair enough, alba.
thank you
you're welcome Excel x
Am I the only one in the country fed up with hearing about the olympics every five seconds?
Yes I suggested it too but had no luck. I'm pleased you've mentioned it again Excelsior, it does need a topic of its own really.

Its not any old Olympics afterall, its OUR Olympics. A once in a lifetime experience when ABers will be attending as well as watching on TV. People might be involved in all sorts of ways and it would be great to have a place to post. (For the sake of both those who are interested and thoswho are not!)
Thanks DF! :o}

waterboatman and maidup .. i agree with both of you (surprisingly)

let me explain..

WB .. i have no interest at all in the sporting events. i'll watch the opening & closing ceremonies - as i like a good spectacle..but that is all.

Maidup .. your point is valid - it is our turn for the games, therefore interest is bound to be magnified .. besides i'm proud of the small part i played in events when the torch passed through my town three weeks ago .. and i have the little lapel-badge to remind me.
sorry, Maidup, it's not MY Olympics. It's London 2012.
I'm not a party-pooper by any means but the media have driven any good-will out of me.
Well it'll soon be over Alba, but lets have a place to post which you can avoid and we can enjoy.
alba's not the only one :-)
oh no, I enjoy reading posts and comments. These people have spent a lifetime of commitment to their particular sport and should be acknowledged.
It's just the media which have made me tired of it.
but it covers so much .thers advetrs,arts & lit ,bodyand soul goes it to it .businees and finance is interested ,chatting about it ,the family might watch it .we will sit down with a packet of grub and a drink to watch it .its historical .you can bet on it and it on the media and tv and that only some of the different topics connected to it
I was going to post this but see you have already. I really think it would have been an excellent idea. Just since last night there are so many threads about the opening ceremony, the politics, nazi salutes and commentating in French that I don't know where to turn and we will have lots more on the actual sport itself. A missed opportunity for lean techniques IMO.
