I watched it for about half an hour until it disappeared down the side of the house.
I'm quite chuffed. Only ever seen extinct ones by the roadside before!

Oh wow cupid! Nothing beats seeing tv nature in real life! We had a snuffling hedgehog but a badger is some big deal!! You are so lucky:-)
Green with envy, Cupid ....best I've seen is a wombat but he was 'tame' ...lively though !!
Oops and lovely too !
I shall be pleased to see my hedgehog tonight. :o}
I think, they tend to go further afield, searching for food during dry weather.
On a few occasions I've found pots and ornaments turned over, where it seems, they were foraging for worms, slugs, etc.

Nice thing to see.
i have them in the garden quite often but I wish they wouldn't come in as they dig holes in the lawn and one tried to demolish a fence panel to get through to the alley x
I have a pheasant-feeder at the bottom of my garden, filled with mixed birdseed, and it's lovely to see pheasants, a pair of English partridge, a range of little birds, a not-quite-so-welcome assortment of corvids, three litters of rabbits from the burrow under the shed ... and anything up to three badgers. Wouldn't mind if they had just had a nibble on the way through. They stay for an hour or more and devour kilos of seed, and this can happen every night throughout the spring and early summer. Costs me a fortune...
Lovely cupid and I envy you Rose ...
No hedgehogs for you then, cupid, badgers think of them as mobile Mars Bars.
Some of you are so lucky, getting wildlife right into your garden.

Know where to find them within about 5 miles of home but don't think we're ever going to see them sunning themselves on the Seafront. Envy you that one.
Enjoy.
They're black and white, yes. Never seen one.
ur resident hedgehog survived the winter although I removed the log pile under which it was residing( I replaced it with superior insulation), It got caught up in the netting over my veg. patch which is there to prevent the neighbour's ******* cats from sh****g on my seed beds. It took about half an hour to snip away the threads. Last night I found a GLOW WORM and the nightingale has managed to eat the 50 or so chafer bugs that I removed from the compost heap...so far so good.
The Blackbird delights in pulling tomato seedlings out of their pots and throwing them away...little ***.
We used to have nine turn up each evening at 10:30 ish.We would invite friends around to see them and they never failed to arrive. They love peanuts. However we had to stop attracting them as the farmer renting the field adjacent decided to graze cattle....alas badgers and cattle dont mix.
