Surprise

Had a quick look out of the bedroom window and thought I had a rather strange looking pigeon in the garden. Turned out it was a beautiful sparrowhawk. Didn't stay long but made my day.

How fabulous maggie. Just told Mr Helmet - he was well jealous
Lovely, and lucky you.
Sparrowhawks are lovely creatures. We have one that uses our garden as a dining table. Then, she doesn't seem quite so lovely but I wouldn't want her to leave.
Seeing them take prey an a puff of feathers is an amazing sight... worth losing a few small birds for the power of a wonderful predator
