Why Does My Goldfish Have Black Fin Edges? I noticed this yesterday, they were their normal orange the day before, I washed the sponge from the filter on Friday morning.

Go to your pet store and secure a simple, inexpensive water testing kit. Check especially for ammonia content (should be near zero) as well as nitrites. Filters won't eliminate ammonia, which is often the cause of black tips on goldfish fins and tails...
