when is the best season to go to an african safari

Can anyone advise me as to the best time to go on an African Safari so see the biggest varity of animals as it is to be the Holiday of a life time I hope

late in the dry season is best - a lot of waterholes dry up and the animals come out to the bigger ones to drink in the open, so you can see them, and the bush is less dense so they're not so well hidden. About now - say June to September - is good for Kenya and Tanzania, though these days you can never be sure of weather anywhere.

many thanks we are saving to go in 2010 so maybe the weather will have changed back by then
