Socialising, as soon as possible, the more the merrier.

Be consistant, few words repeated often, keep it simple.

I don't know many other people with dogs, so he won't get his first meeting with other dogs until I can walk him out. And thanks Baldric useful tip.
Lots of vets hold puppy classes, check your local vets and see if they hold them or they may know of puppy socialisation.

I don't know what's in those Videos, just remember dogs can be quite bright but not many are intellectuals, keep it simple.

Thanks Baldric, I can't wait to walk him.
Positive reinforcement. Consistent praise and reward when it does something you want it to do. Don't ever punish, just be cross, with a firm 'No!'
Ask at your vets if they do a pre vaccination puppy group. You can also take him out up in your arms to meet people and see stuff and invite people to your home to meet him. Just keep him away from dogs you don’t know. Take its steady. Socialising “the more the merrier” can be too much for most pups, make sure he gets his rest and quiet periods as well as outings. Be patient, be patient and then be patient again. If he makes mistakes its your fault not his. NEVER smack, shake, “Alpha Roll” or shout at your puppy.

Here’s a decent book

A decent training class can be good but make sure its a decent one, I chose the wrong one and it took months to undo the damage. It wasn’t cruel but it was too loud and bright and pressured for my boys. Ask to go without your dog and watch a class. If they refuse then don’t go any further, if they do allow you then what do you think of the class? Is it calm with small numbers and lots of fun and praise?
>>> Links are not working

All of the links, including the videos, open fine for me in Firefox (on a Windows 7 machine). If they're not opening for you, try a different browser (or a different device)
links work fine for me too
My advice would be ignore the bad behaviour and reward the good. Set them up to succeed and not fail
. Have fun with your new arrival.
