Thanks both. I like Weardale so much that I think I am going to put it in even though unlike you mallyh I can only see Upper Weardale rather than Weardale Town! Wondered about Oban but can't see where whistle comes in. As for Alba I think that is probably too obscure. I wondered about either Holt or Hove for that clue. xx

Holt is what I thought first of all mallyh - there are 5 places of that name in England. Perhaps it is pronounced Halt in scottish! I actually prefer Fife but again it is not a town or city!
