As Maxie is a white coloured dog (whether that matters) but he gets gunk as in black stones in the corner of his eyes. Everynight I clean them with Eye Wipes from pets at home but they are difficult to remove as I have to "pull" them out.

Anybody advise on how I could wipe gentler. Thanks

JJ, could he have an eye infection?

no cos when I clean them he doesn't flinch or anything like that but he does like it to be removed - am going to try warm water tomorrow - think that may move it a bit better.
We've got a white Shih Tzu cross and wipe his eyes daily with baby wipes, but as for staining there are many products claiming to get rid of it on white dogs but I dont think any of them work, just one of them things with white dogs!
maybe try doing it more than once a day if he doesn’t mind? catch it before it dries and mounts up?

I do understand that stains cannot be removed but the little stones are difficult to remove cos they are attached to his fur.

Will try Woofgang's suggestion. Ta All.
I do my pups in the morning and before bed :-) if it's left for longer it does go hard xx
