I feel sorry for his family, but its about time this cruel one-sided fight is banned, although it wasn't one-sided today!

Serves the animal-abuser right, as far as Im
No, I'm not sorry, unless he died quickly
Whilst in no way do I approve of bull-fighting it is seen as a way for young lads from poor families to be successful. If you can get a copy of El Cordobes' life story, 'Or I'll dress you in mourning', it is a fascinating and revealing account of one who made it, and also chronicles the desperate poverty for many people after the Spanish Civil War.
//It is estimated that more than £100 million of EU money is used to subsidise bullfighting in Spain - about £13.5million of which comes from UK taxes.//

There you go remainers. Glad we Brexited now?

I cannot rejoice in a man's death, that said Bullfighting must stop - the sooner the better.

A bit more detail on the figures mentioned above.

But surely it's part of their culture and must be respected, rather like Moslems stoning adulteresses and throwing gays off tall buildings.

It's good to see the 'Old Ways' are not dying out Jack.
Glad you appreciate the irony, Balders. Can't remember the last time I went to the burning of a heretic.
It's about time that the table was turned. I hope followers see sense.
I am surprised that this has lasted so long, given that cockfighting was outlawed here in the 19C. Obviously it still has the support of the Spanish government.

Retros post at 01:05 might shed some light on that.
the referendum is over, nobody has to quote Boris Johnson's little inventions any more

///A 2013 report by Green MEPs on bullfighting in Spain found that around €130m (£103m) a year from EU funds was being used to subsidise the industry. The report itself notes that "facts and figures about bullfighting are hard to obtain" and "lines of funding are difficult to track".///

Another idiot bites the dust... totally justified!
A man goes to Spain and attends a bullfight. Afterwards he goes to a nearby restaurant and orders the specialty of the day. The waiter brings him two very big balls on a huge plate, which the tourist eats with relish. The next day he goes to the same restaurant again, once again orders the specialty of the day, and he is brought two very big balls on a huge plate. It tastes even more scrumptious. The third day he does the same and the fourth, but on the fifth day he goes to the restaurant and orders the specialty of the day, and they bring him two very small balls on a big plate. The man asks, "What gives?" And the waiter says, "Senor, the bullfighter doesn't always win!"

I do not feel sorry about this at all. Instead of being executed, a bull was able to fight back. Killing animals for SPORT is just cruelty.
It has been totally outlawed in Catalonia, so I'm not sure why the rest of Spain hasn't caught up.

It is a barbaric "custom" and one which the younger generation are vehemently opposed to.
Some might say that in wishing to demonstrate their 'outrage' some people's sense of perspective is out of kilter.
