This is my first 'summer' at this house and yesterday and today I have noticed a small group of bees around the bottom corner of my roof. I think one at a time is getting into the roof but can't be sure. I'm on my own and unable to access the loft due to mobility problems. Can anyone advise me whether or not I need to worry, and if so who I should contact. Whenever I look there seems to be no more than 4 or 5 hovering around.

Are you sure they are bees?

Contact a bee keeper, not pest control. If they are bees a bee keeper will usually remove them.

Thanks - yes definitely bees. Will try to find a local beekeeper.
Margaret.....they are most likely masonry bees.......most summers I have a group around my house....

I don't believe they do any damage at all but have a google of mason or mortar bees and see what you think.
I have had bees like this and they won't stay long and will do no harm whatsoever.
