I saw a small egg broken at the bottom of a hedge this morning. What wild bird lays eggs like that?

Looking at the gallery I think it might have been a Wood Pigeon's
The Linnet lays eggs with a pink tinge, and a few spots at the blunt end.

Wood pigeons lay eggs the size of a small bantam.
