All I can say is that my 4 clamour to come and complain when they have to leave, good? I'll ask them.
Does not matter if you think it is a strange question.
Surely that is exactly what Chatterbank is for!
No.
I'd like to think so TWR. Bought my 3 year old grand daughter a Pepa Pig onesie for a stocking filler this afternoon.
Just been told today that I one of the best grannies ever!
Having no children equals no grandchildren.

Apparently I'm a mean aunt though.
I'm not a grandparent and have absolutely no interest in becoming one - maybe I'll change if it happens.
I hope so, I work hard at it.

Was told that #1 daughter was a credit to us at her annual report meeting at Nursery. Must be doing something right.
Sorry! I read that as Parent not Grandparent!!!

Seeing as our oldest is only 4, I hope to have at least 2 decades before I find out if I'm a decent Granny!
Here are the results of my quick poll...

J - Male - 11yrs - 'Why what are you after?'

T - Male - 10yrs - 'The best ever, can I come to yours tomorrow?'

E - Female - 8yrs - Is in her room painting nails pink but shouted down 'Yes, great'

L - Male - 3yrs - is in the bath.
What IS a good grandparent?

I rarely see the grandchildren, I don't get involved in the upbringing or education of the grandchildren......they are not MY children.

I really don't know my grandchildren.......am i worried about this state of affairs?

Not in the least.
I don't even know if I am a grandparent, I suppose I could be....
Are you my dad, sqad?
LOL.....I would rather be your lover......^^^
Lol x
Daughter has had a hysterectomy, so there's no chance of being a grandad:-(
I try hard to be. It is difficult when you are 1,000 miles away. I try hard to support my children as they raise my grandchildren. I hope that they will be people I can relate to when they grow up. We are moving back to UK for many reasons, one of the plusses arising from this decision is that we shall see more of them and hopefully enlarge their sense of family and belonging in a time-line and common heritage.
My friend has been a really fantastic grand-parent. Practically reared them, spoilt them, paid for them to travel - just everything.

Today 4 or 5 years down the line 3 (twins of 13 and 18 year old) of them don't speak to her because of their parents. She is so despondent and depressed.

I don't believe in this tho - if they (children) never make you laugh - they will never make you cry.
I would have made a lousy mother and am not much good as an auntie. Even my furrybairns take the ***.

I cringe when I think that my friend and I used to babysit for people when we were in our early teens. I haven't got a clue.

TWR - I am sure that you would make a good Grand Parent.
I must say and only generalising that I do think today's generation are a generation of takers and not givers.
