How much do you pay for a consult with your cat at your vet ? ? I have a feeling we are being 'fleeced' but I'd like to see what others are paying.

£35 at my vet in Hove.
yearly check up, injections. worming tablets, £ 48, be more this year I'm sure :(
My cat goes in every few weeks to have his claws clipped - they charge between £9 and £13.
The OP has asked what consultation fee you are paying.
£34 at mine.
I told him what I thought of his charges: when I was asking about cleaning pups umbilical cords; he said 'You could give them a wipe with some hibiscrub, I'll give you some.' He then put a squirt into a 5cl plastic bottle, diluted it from the tap and handed it to me.
When I got home and examined the invoice I found he'd charged me £6.65 for the squirt of hibiscrub and a prescription charge of £8.80......
About £25 plus treatment.
sorry!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I have a dog LOL
shoota................. cat :)
Oh yeah - didn't see the 'cat' either - doh...
Do they charge differently for the consultation then if it's a dog or cat?
Consult fee is the same anyhow Asquith....
don't know.............I don't have a cat.
£31.98 + VAT = £38.38 at mine.
^^^ Things they didn't teach me in school.

The ***!

Think what it will be like when GPs go the same way as Dentists.

ladybirder - the charge that I quoted is the total charge. It isn't in addition to a consultation fee.
Come on, Mayennaise, we've shown you ours, so you've gotta show us yours!
;-)
Ouzel:
If the vet isn't required to offer a professional opinion, there won't be a consultation fee anyway.
Ah, that explains why the fee is so low. Thank you.
Mayennaise, have a look if you have a Animal Trust
in your area, the 1st consultation is free and you will find the treatment is a lot cheaper than most vets.
I realise that ouzel thanks:-)
