Mr T and I have just been discussing the wealth of words that little Tilly understands. She understands/responds to:- Tilly!, sit, stay, stand, leave, come, go, here, down, lie, over, ok, chewy, biscuit, no, go get, no more, good girl and CATS!

I'm sure there are lots more.

Amazing isn't it?

Any other commands your dog knows?

Pee pees

What does Little Tilly do in response to 'Cats?'
Chicken. That's it- that's all mine know.
My Brother used to have a dalmatian stay at his kennels a few times every year. She was deaf but her owners taught her sign language. It was really amazing the commands she understood

Oh yes, sibs. Ours is 'Do a wee wee.................. Good girl.'
Daughter's respond to 'Treats'
The only word our catz respond to is

Dinner!
One of my cats sits on command, she also puts her head up when you ask for kisses, they both come when their names are called and they know the word 'treats'.
Yes, wee wees, cup o tea? (milk & water)
Get behind --- when they both sit on my chair.
If we say cat, they go and call the cat in.
If MrF calls my Name, they come and demand I attend immediately.
Postie delivering, they bounce like mad things at front door.

Tilly responds to hand signals, mazie. I lift my first finger and she sits. That is one of many signals. I was taught at training sessions to accompany each command with a hand signal. I know someone who can get a German Shepherd dog to stop, sit and lie down by just moving her eyebrows.
Upstairs, green ball, red ball, inside ball, drive ball, kitchen, path (he never walks off the pavement), heel, stop, fetch it, catsssss, leave it, keep it, down, lay down, stay, inside, turn round, other paw, sit ( of course), find it, and best if all, if he comes out of our drive an 100 yds down the road I realise he's got the wrong ball 'other ball' sends him back to the house to fetch the right one. He is a BC after all.
Our old mongy knew her left and right, and could count.
Lads often tried to trick her, RIP Maud xx
Oh, and 'on the step' when he's muddy and has had a wash down and needs to be dried.
It was really something Tilly.. I was so impressed. She was a great dog.. Wow that is impressive, a very attentive dog she must have... Right I'm off guys... Night xxx

Baldric, she flies to the door and runs into the garden, seeking out the fleeing cat.

Fortunately, she has not yet caught one, unlike my last Staffie who cornered a cat in our garage........shudder!
Missing my GHD again now, really intelligent, empathetic dogs
GSD^^

Umm. encouraging aggression to cats eh! not good.
Question Author
Baldric, I don't like cats in my garden. My dogs are empathetic.
Oh and, leave it, you play ( when we get bored of throwing the ball for him), cross ( to cross to the other side of the road). Bed time, and he also gets exited at Gradndma, ( and the name of his kennel / kennel owner). Still thinking....
