Well, I really didn't know a lot of you felt this way! I have just spotted this thread having been so busy yesterday.
http://www.theanswerbank.co.uk/ChatterBank/Question1364601.html

How do I feel - being called "odd, Creepy, strange, a stalker??
Come on folks what is wrong with some of you? All I wanted was to post some cheery birthday wishes, that's all - nothing sinister! I had asked a couple of years for those wanting a birthday greeting to let me know their birthdays, I put them in a book and refer to it while sitting at my computer. I don't go to bed until after 1am most days so that is the time I generally look in the book and post to the lucky?? person.

I do know some of you appreciate these posts and do say thank you which does please me, but it's not worth all this hassle and quite frankly some real rudeness, so my birthday threads will now stop. I find all this a bit OTT considering it was just a birthday greeting, I have more things to worry about with the health of some of my relatives.
I'm not "in the army" as someone suggested, just quite an organised person as I am retired but do lots of voluntary secretarial work for my local church.
Have a nice day folks - "be kind to one another" is a good motto for life.

Don't be silly, your birthday threads are a part of AB, and will not stop despite you withdrawing your expertise.

The Good Morning threads are not everybodies cup of tea, but they from an essential and important part of AB.

Come on Ann...reconsider.
Ignore them, Ann, and carry on. Personally, I don't 'do' birthdays, but your posts are kindly meant, and if they please the people who like them there's no harm in it. Don't let spiteful people get you down. I don't. ;ox
Don't let the lemon-suckers win Ann!
Oh how sad that you're made to feel this way Ann :-(

I'm not on your list nor did I request as it's not 'my bag' but I can see that your well meant birthday threads are really appreciated by the majority.

Look at it this way, if there was a problem with any of your threads, not just the birthday ones, they'd be removed, as it is they stay and they make others happy.

Please reconsider :-)
I agree with previous posters, keep your thread going. If there are some that don't want theirs announcing (that you already do) they can always ask to be removed from your little book.
I haven't been on AB very long and I wondered if your birthday threads were actual birthdays or AB birthdays, ie someones first posting.
I think your threads are very thoughtful and would hate to see them disappear.
Don't let a few narky people get you down :-)
Ignore the detractors Anne and keep it going.

Well, you know what i mean...........;-)
Crikey!

I'm not sure which im more in shock by...

Sqad being nice about nice threads or him posting music links! Corrrr!!!
Please carry on Ann, it cheered me up no end last year!
Now I feel really awful, it was a genuine question on my part about how ABers felt if they did or didn't add to wishes plus a couple of practical things from you Ann. Not everyone is going to agree about everything on here , that's part of the site. Just because some people choose not to take part why does that mean you have to stop? Lots choose not to join in good morning or goodnight or seehowfarthisgoes threads and also knock them, doesn't mean they stop though.
I think if you stop doing them - as they clearly give you and others pleasure - it's not only a great shame but also an overreaction so yes please reconsider (someone else will do it if you don't).
I'm also personally sorry and that'll teach me to put something in Chatterbank.
Ann, I can see why you're upset and hurt. However , if you give up now, those spiteful people will have won. Don' t give them the pleasure of thinking that their snide comments have made any difference.
Keep on posting your birthday threads. Those of us who join, in will continue to do so. Those that don't like them can go whistle.
I don't think anyone has been spiteful.
Tilly, 'Go whistle'. I like that. :o)

Prudie, you're not responsible for what other people write. There was nothing wrong with your question.

Yes Prudie don't you dare feel responsible. X
Without going into detail, I really appreciated the birthday thread from yesterday. Helped to lift my spirits some. Would be a shame if they had to stop.
What Naomi and Tilly said :o)
Ummmm, I don't want to get in an argument about who was or was not spiteful. By my definition, there were some very spiteful things said.
Ann, I think it was me who first used the words odd and creepy..and then qualified it by saying that wasn't actually what I meant, I just couldn't think of the right words.
I wasn't being spiteful or rude, just expressing..or trying to express..how I feel. They're not for me, neither are the good morning ones and some others, we're all different in our likes and dislikes, it's what makes things interesting.
Your birthday threads obviously give a lot of people pleasure, why would you stop doing them?
Please reconsider Ann and ignore all the negatives. There a lot of people that have no one to wish them a Happy Birthday. xx
