After my dog had conjuntivitis for a second time in 3 months I took him to the vets where they said he probably had hayfever. Well it makes sense because he would always be sneezing when I took him for walks in the park but just never thought dogs could have hayfever. So they gave me Piriton to give him which they said is exactly the same as what we humans use. He's a changed little pooch and so much happier so it definitely works. What I was wondering though, is whether I can only use Piriton or whether it's alright to give him other hayfever tablets?. Because he needs to have the Piriton twice a day I thought it would be easier to give him one that lasts 24 hrs. I will obviously be asking the vets this before I try but just thought I would ask fellow AB'ers to hear if any of you have any experience in it?

I don't think It would be wise to give the dog a 24hr tablet as dogs have a different metabolism to us humans. It may not work for the full 24hrs or it may harm him, however, I'm not a vet and it might be worth asking a professional.
