Has anyone had any frogs spawn in their ponds this year? Normally we see them anytime between the 1st to the 10th of March, but this year not a peep of a frog in the pond. I appreciate it's been bitterly cold, but if and when the weather ever starts to warm up, will the frogs return or will this be a Spawn Free year?

We have lots of spawn in our pond, just arrived recently and we live in the north of England. It's still bitterly cold here too.
havent seen any here yet we are north suffolk
I mentioned this to hubby the other day when we took the dog out for a walk. We pass a lily pond and usually it's full of spawn, and there seems to be an endless stream of kids with jam-jars over the Easter holidays - seen a few disappointed kids but no spawn - although on 'high ground' the pond is sheltered, and it didn't freeze.
I haven't seen any yet, I think the cold weather as held them back, as you suggest.
Looking at some recent posts though, some people have been over-run with them.
I'm hoping its just a late start this year.
Frogs are usually spawning in our pond early in March, I saw the first clumps of frogspawn yesterday, 6th April. Been very cold here in Yorkshire.
Plenty of frogs over here in the Dordogne!
