Sorry don't know how to add the link to my previous question to this post.
(Was thinking of adopting a 10 yr old retiring police Labrador). I did ring up only to find the dog had gone for a trial with someone. Anyway noticed this week that dog was back on the homing site (no fault of the dog and he is back with his handler until a home is found), so called up again and will be meeting the dog in about a week when his handler returns from holiday. Dog in excellent health. Have a really good feeling about this. And thanks to all for the advice on the previous post.
Sounds like he is going to go to a loving home. Make lots of fuss of him and give him treats. He is bound to find it hard to adjust but with love and attention he could be happy with you! Good luck and lucky old dog!!
In 2006 I took on a 13 year old rescue dog that had just had one of its back legs amputated and we had three glorious years together. It's one of the best things I ever did and we adored each other. He had a heart attack out of the blue one evening as we sat watching TV after being out together all day. Good for you for taking him on, most people want puppies not older dogs.
