What do snails eat

During my walk I see lots of snails since this rain season .Other day a bird had maybe hit an overhead wire (bird off the wire sorta thing ) Well following day the carcass was covered in snails .Why I wondered .

some slugs eat plants etc others eat leftovers

a friend of mine said that if she burnt a pan whilst cooking she would put it out into the garden and the fairies would clean it for her! years later she found out that it was not the fairies but slugs and snails that cleaned the pan, yuk she told me this after I had eaten at her house :(

The snails will eat the beak and eventually the bones if it stays moist. There is a lot of calcium there. It takes a while as they can only rasp, they don't have a strong jaw or proper teeth.

They eat the dog poo on my patio if I dont get to it in time.
