CLUES ONLY PLEASE

If you are doing the quiz you will undestand my questions - if not I will try to explain.

The answers are all films and the year and number of letters is given
Ther is a cryptic clue to PART of the title (not necssarily the first part of the title) Then there are pictures to give the other part of the title ie
22. Staff (8 3) 1976
Matched with a picture of a chocolate bar the answer is
'Marathon Man'

I am left with 4

20. Eliot (5) 1988
34. There you go, try this (4 9) 1972
43. The small guardian (5-6) 1967
54. Shameful (10 4) 1971

The pictures I am left with are
A picture of Morse
A cartoon camel
2 Flamingoes
A picture of the cat from the cat in the hat

Hope that I have been able to explain it

There was a film about a child dancer called Eliot
34. There is a film called Pink Flamingoes but not sure how it fits the clue.
Sorry, mistaken. That Eliot was spelt with two Ls, ELLIOT, and released in 2000, not 1988
Question Author
Thank you gen2 & Jan1957 Pink Flamingoes fits the number of letters for 34 but I can't fit pink to the verbal clue.

Only part of the 5 letter answer will come from Eliot I was thinking ET as Eliot was in ET and the rest of the word from the picture clue
A pink flamingo is a cocktail if that's any help.

Thank you sherrardk I suppose it could be 34 ie offering someone a drink
54 Scandalous John ? Comedy western 1971; Not sure about the cat.
54. Scandalous John? (John Thaw played Morse)
Question Author
thank you scotman that will match the picture of John Thaw (Morse)
Sorry, only just seen that you were asking for clues only.
Have you thought that the Eliot may be the letters TS? (TS Eliot). That may be the end letters of the answer?

It does request that answers to this quiz are not given on the internet. I realise that the asker said clues only were requested, but as often happens answers were given out instead. It was also said some time ago that where quizzes requested no answers be given that wish would be respected. I appreciate this is an answer site which is precisely why the quiz wasn't advertised on here. The asker is quite well aware of the setters request.

I am aware oddboddy which is why I asked for clues - in capital letters - in line with the setters request and with only 3 days to go before the closing date.
Admiring your avatar - mine is Alfie
oddbody. This is not the first time that your point has been similarly raised and responded to by the Editorial Team.

//In Quizzes and Puzzles we occasionally have users decrying the posting of questions from a Quiz which has not been out very long or where the setter has asked those entering not to use site such as this. It is "dishonourable" to go against the wishes of the setter. However, we will not remove the question. This is a Q&A site after all. It is suggested that those wishing not to know the answer simply do not read the question.///

Thank you sirprize - I didn't realise that my question was in danger of being removed. I did not act dishonourable as the setter specifically said that if you 'need help then as for a clue' which is what I did in all good faith in line with the setters request and very close to the closing date. I do try to 'play fair'

34 Singer Pink had a hit with "There you go"
