Friday Feeling Transplant

What are our chance of success in transplanting the normal "Friday Feeling" to this fine Thursday? After all, it is the end of the week and we've got plenty of time off.

There are several ways we could do it.

1. Holistically: Use one small victory diluted throughout the day to spur on the good feelings later on. For example I had the most amazing smoothie this morning, that might, diluted throughout the day prove to be enough to have me smiling all day.

2. "Straight Transplant": This required a large amount of surgical spirit. You should take beverages at regular intervals (as soon as is appropriate). This one has side effects though as it can make the actual Friday feel like new year's day 2000, or if you really go for the surgical spirit, you might loose the whole weekend.

3. Placebo Effect: We can put up loads of music threads and talk about what we're doing on the weekend. This will make us think it is actually Friday. The side effects of this is that tomorrow you'll wake up with a sense of bank-holiday-no-man's-land-malaise.

So:

How are you going to build up a bit of excitement for this coming weekend?

What do you have to look forward to?

What is making you smile already?

What rituals will you be taking part in this bank holiday? For example, will you be making the traditional trip to a hardware/furniture shop/garden centre?

Will you be seeing family? Or are you squirrelling away a bit of "me" time?

Also, soundtracks, have you got any to share?

All the best,

Spare Ed

Mmm...not a bad idea, ABE, but I like my Sundays too much and don't want the faux days making me get the Monday morning blues on Sunday.
I have the Friday feeling, I have a Crunchie in my desk drawer at the ready , I've already had my morning swim and flexi-time means I can clear off by mid-afternoon.

I am in Cambridge Saturday and being dragged to the Peak District to do a bit of healthy hill walking on the Sunday. Monday I shall be fit for nowt apart from a bit of sunbathing, gentle gardening & reading.

My soundtracks for today are Friday I'm In Love by the Cure (Happy Birthday Robert Smith today plus her Madge) and Walking on Sunshine by Trina(!) & The Waves.

I love you all, Miss Happy xx
i've got a hideous cold n cough and i feel like someone have shoved a brillo pad down my throat so its looks like i'll be spending the bank hol in bed and not in a good way. so i'm grumpy, very very grumpy :-(
Morning ed.

ed, it'd have been a shorter posts if you'd just put " you're all moaning miserable sods lately, and ive had enough, so cheer up or else"

;-)
Well I did put up a thread about what I was planning on doing.....but it got removed :-(

You're right B00, I should have put a TL;DR on it... I still might!

Erm...no video...Darn!
I'm doing a roast on Friday and my parents (and maybe bro) are coming round. They are off on holiday for 3 weeks on Sunday which I'm not looking forward to :o(

Are you saving the crunchie Salla?

Biggest question is where are you eating in Cambs? I always like the Eagle, for their fish & chips.

Thanks Chuck!

McFluff, have you tried GIN? It's meant to kill germs?

And this is my noise for the weekend:

...forgot to mention..it's a short month...Pay Day next week-end!! Yeh!!!

tiggerblue10 - Surely the peace would be good?
''What do you have to look forward to?''

Viewing a property and hopefully deciding that we'll take it... the last few weeks have been nothing but searching and viewing and I'm a bit sick of it now...
Good Lord Fluffster, is that a new dress you have for Easter? And a matching Easter Bonnet? I don't mean to be rude love, but it does make you look rather....errr... hippy. But pink suits you x

Nora - who needs a video when you still have Daniel Craig...
Why on earth is there an assumed expectation for everyone to get excited about Easter?
I know I have my off moments with my parents but I am going to miss them a lot. They help me out with Little Tiggs quite a lot and as I'm returning to work on 3rd May I will have to get childcare cover for the days my dad would have been looking after him.
the mere thought of booze makes me feel sick :-(
Awww... let me cook you a mushroom omelette...
Fluffs. I love your avatars, they always cheer me up. Sorry you're poorly - I'll do a little magic spell for you to make your woes disappear.

My crunchie will have gone by 11 a.m. Ed. And we shall be eating in either Carluccio's (I have a voucher for a free bottle of Red) or Jamie Oliver's restaurant if we can get in, cos we haven't tried there yet.

TTFN - your avatar is very nice. I love lillies. Although it does look a bit like a Deepest Sympathy card.
