My dogs warts

My Yorkshire Terrier is 13yrs and she has several warts on her body. Two in particular are near her tail and she is constantly chewing them. The vet said he could remove them but I dont want her going under general anasthetic at her agae. Has anyone got any ideas how to treat them without an op?

Meant to say if she is chewing them then they must be irritating her and could become infected. I would get them removed.

ask the vet what the other options are
My dog had one removed last week, he had scratched top off it and it had become infected. He was thirteen last September, he came bouncing out of the surgery after the op having barked his head off all afternoon. We went back this morning for the stitches out and it has healed fine, with no sign of the wart/growth having been anything sinister.

I can understand your reservations about a GA, I felt the same when my old boy who was 12 had to have a tooth out. He had to stay in overnight, the first night he had spent away from home, but he just wasnt ready to come home and I was fooling myself thinking he was ok as he didnt want to know. The vet said he used the kind of GA they use on Greyhounds, which is much kinder on older dogs.
