my son has 2 x 5 year old neutered female ferrets and has just found a stray male ferret. we have put the male in a cage for now but would like to put him into our purpose built ferret house with the 2 females. can anyone advise the best way to do this as we do not know how accepting ferrets are of new ones

They are very social creatures and as the two females are neutered there is no worry about them 'seeing him off' for his advances. Let them see him through the bars first and then you could put him on a lead and let them play round him for a while. They will probably be all over him sniffing to see where he has been.
how long have you had him? you say he was found. please do not add him in with yours for at least a couple of weeks....keep him quarantined to make sure he has not got any viruses we choose a beautiful hob from RSPCA that we were going to adopt, 3 days before collection they took in a stray and to cut it short out of around 15 ferrets only 4 lived , the one we choose didnt make it. but we now have 2 females and then we introduced a hob, we let them out in our sitting room for a few hours to watch how they interacted, It went well and they loved him, I would clean there new home out completely before putting them all in there,

It should go fine good luck
this might sound strange but where are you from. near where i live there are lots of lost posters for a lost male ferret....just in case........
