dog with a sore lip

My weimaraner bitch aged 14 has bitter her flew several times as she has fits (now controlled) The wounds are superficial (not puncture) absolutely clean, no pus or inflammation but they just dont heal. 2 of our lovely local vets have looked at them and said that the problem is that she liplicks after feeding grooming and so on and that is slowing the healing. Dog is not in pain....doesn't even notice the wound IMO and vets have said not to worry. The last time she bit herself was august this year.
Obviously you can't bandage or dress the wound and surgical intervention isn't an option, as I have said she is quite happy but it would be nice if we could get her healed. She is diabetic (well controlled) but this hasn't affected the healing of other wounds.

sooo folks, any suggestions please?
thanks

Try a solution called colloidal silver, you can use it on wounds, and even as a mouthwash, it is perfectly safe.
I'll try to find you a link. You could spray it onto the wound or dab it on with a cotton ball.

thank you!
I have a dog with a harelip. His mark is worse than his mite.
Lets know how you get on with it, its so safe you can even put it in your eyes if they are sore.

Hi Lankeela, sorry not to post before. We did get the colloidal silver and try it but sadly our dog passed away (intestinal blockage). She was an old frail lady and it wasn't unexpected but we do miss her
