I'm not going to let my dog lick my hand again after seeing it wolf down what the neighbouring cat left. It can't be hungry, what's the reason for doing this?
Indeed not. But as I said here in AB a while back I did develop a taste for a beaker of steaming pee until I discovered I was the victim of a cruel April Fool joke. ☺
It is pretty common, it is called Coprophagia. The best way is to keep her on a lead or learn to move faster than her to stop her. Or stop the blasted cat from making unwanted deposits. :-)
Years ago a neighbours rather big dog used to get into my garden and eat my cats poo from the litter tray which I kept in the garden. I saw it do this several times when I got home from work before I had a chance to clean the tray out. I told the neighbours but they were not bothered!
I remember seeing a programme on the tele ages ago where, somewhere in the middle of nowhere in Africa, mothers were letting the dogs that roamed around this sort of compound where they lived, lick their babies bottoms clean after defecating. Hey presto, clean bottom and satisfied protein filled dog;-)
